Canteen tells the sad story of an orphan boy who struggles with his new life in a home. A real picture of life in an orphanage is painted, one that is poignant and rarely seen. It’s a tough life for orphans in Malaysia, when even their next meal is an uncertainty. BERNAS, the nation’s largest rice provider, launched their Bowls for Humanity campaign to help feed orphans in Malaysia. Unlike other charities, this one pledged to donate a portion of rice to the children in need, with every pack of BERNAS rice purchased. With Canteen, Malaysians could relate to the cause and feel empathy for the orphans. It also stirred a sense of hope, and shared the Bowls of Humanity campaign message that together with BERNAS, we can all help the less fortunate.
