Washing powder brand ‘Nirma’ has been using the jingle (washing powder nirma) since its first TVC in ‘80s. The mandate for the agency was to incorporate this jingle in this TVC too. However, the agency did not use it as the traditionally used jingle but in a new sing-song talky manner and portrayed as a metaphorical manifestation of an ancient Hindu chant; known as ‘Hanuman Chaaleesa’ in India (when hummed; it is believed to ward off the evil things). This TVC shows a dramatic and surreal representation of ‘dirt’ being warded off through a powerful chanting of ‘Nirma jingle’.
