The key objective is to feature research findings that communicate Microsoft’s company strategy, thought leadership and momentum on Cloud technology, effectively increasing brand linkages between Microsoft and Cloud computing in the Asia-Pacific region. As research findings span the entire suite of Cloud services and solutions available on the market, the challenge was two-tiered. Firstly, it was critical to pick out the correct data points that associate Microsoft positively with the general industry trends. Additionally, an intuitive storyline had to be integrated into the infographics so that audiences would not be overwhelmed by the huge amount of data featured.
Create a series of infographics to complement a Microsoft-commissioned Cloud Computing industry study conducted by analyst firm, Springboard. The following key messages had to be communicated: “Cloud solutions and platforms are viable infrastructure that can effectively combat IT challenges – and here’s proof”. The infographics must be designed for use in PR and digital communications, including online coverage and outreach. They will also be used for marketing purposes and should reach out to influencers and customers as well as educate the public on the value of Cloud solutions and platforms in an interesting, eye catching and ‘share-worthy’ way.
We drew inspiration from the relationship between clouds and man, and built on the familiar metaphor of a hot air balloon’s journey up into the heights. From preparation to ascension, the visual journey mirrors the increase in a company’s efficiency, growth and value. The final infographic gives compact insights on Cloud technology and Microsoft’s capabilities, in an appealing, clear and relatable narrative.
The results have been phenomenal. The infographic created have been extremely well received by the client, Microsoft, and used to great effect on digital platforms across all 9 markets within Asia Pacific. The clarity that these infographics afforded further allowed them to be used as informative print ads in The Phillipines and New Zealand. We have since produced localized versions of the current infographic to better cater to each of the 9 markets’ unique needs. The popularity of this piece continues to spread, as plans have been made to roll out infographics for subsequent regional campaigns.
