Brief Explanation

THIS WAS THE FIRST MOVIE SHOT 100% ON AN iPHONE TO BE RELEASED IN REGULAR THEATRES. The impossible feat of shooting a movie on an iPhone becomes a reality owing to one of the world’s most acclaimed directors. SYNOPSIS: A quiet man who seems like he’s holding a dark secret inside him. He fishes at a simple river. Not realizing how much time has passed as the night gets deeper. Then a young woman is caught by the fishing pole and comes out of the river. He becomes astounded and doesn’t know what to do. She begins to speak about his family and his eyes transform. The fisherman can’t pull himself together. It’s as if he’s been possessed. The woman suddenly calls the man through a little girl’s voice and the secret he held inside him begins to unearth. 'GUT' or the Korean traditional shamanistic ritual reproduced in NIGHT FISHING, is one of the shamanistic rituals that were practiced throughout the Hwanghae-do area in the current North Korea. The Hwanghae-do Gut, mainly practiced by female shamans, is famous for its exquisite and elaborate mourning that is mixed and entangled with dancing and singing.
