Perfetti Van Melle Vietnam launched a new Big Babol product called Sploosh which is a chewing gum that has a burst of liquid inside. They wanted a TVC that demonstrated the big liquid splash. We decided the best way to reach the 8-12 year old target was to demonstrate the liquid splash in the most hyperbolic way. In the TVC, a father commands his precocious son to wash the car. But to the father’s surprise the quick thinking young boy discovers a better way to upgrade the look of his father’s old rusty roadster by using the liquid burst of the Big Babol Sploosh to give the old car a new candy coated makeover. We see the thrilled look on the father’s face quickly turns to disappointment when he realizes his pride and joy sports car has not been restored to it’s original fire engine red paint job but instead it’s been candy coated in Sploosh.
