Brief Explanation

This commercial spoofs the recent trend of ‘dubbing’ popular Hollywood flicks in Hindi for the national television audience. The ad opens in the middle of an action packed sequence – archeologists are trying to flee from dozens of mummies in what appears to be an underground cave. The set details, cast, mummies are recreated so faithfully that it can easily pass off as a Hollywood blockbuster. As the chase reaches its climax one of the archeologists stops fighting and brings the entire sequence to a halt by asking one question – ‘why are we all talking in Hindi?’ As he says this, it dawns on the mummies too as they look around and nod at each other. And we hear a voice-of-God style VO VO: Because this is an ad for the new Bingo! International Cream & Onion chips that’s made in India but its taste is truly international.
