Following up on last year’s successful Bell Bajao (Ring The Bell) campaign, we were asked to do a set of films this year which were re enactments of true stories of people who, inspired by the campaign, actually went and rang the bell. This one was about the story of a bus driver from Aurangabad who went and rang his neighbour’s doorbell. Of the many inspiring stories that were sent to us, we chose this one over others to elucidate that a do gooder doesn’t necessarily need to be literate to do good to the society. A bus driver standing up for the oppressed neighbour’s wife, was a moving story which we tried to capture in the film. Shot in a day in Mumbai in dogma style, the film was also our tribute to the undying spirit of those men who have made a difference to our lives.
