Standard Chartered Bank wanted to teach the online community about HIV and AIDS without preaching. So we created a global online campaign centered around an interactive site about HIV/AIDS. To lead people to the site, we created an application for Facebook that allows friends to “Shield” each other from HIV with digital condoms – which were all designed to suit different personalities, ranging from The “Zulu Warrior” condom to “Teacher’s Pet”. “To protect yourself in the real world, visit vir.us.” was the message. In less than 2 months, 138 000 people had visited the site.
