The country being particularly vulnerable to climate change, the government encourages local companies to cut their carbon footprint and help make the country carbon neutral.
During United Nation’s celebration of World Environment Day last year, TBWA Worldwide launched the Carbon Neutral Challenge as part of its Corporate Responsibility Program. TBWA offices worldwide including the local agency were audited for their carbon output and tasked to contribute to offset their carbon footprint.
During Christmas when the country’s carbon footprint increases, the local agency turned its back on plastic crates and designed a reusable shopping bag for its annual giveaways for distribution to all its employees, clients and industry partners. Reminding everyone that recycling is the easiest way to reduce carbon footprint, a variation of the mobius loop or recycling symbol was created for the handle of the reusable bag.
One of the country’s largest chain of shopping malls has contacted the local agency, expressing interest to commercially produce the bag and offer it as an alternative to their plastic shopping bags.
