30 year old Bryce enjoys an Aussie barbecue lunch with his family on a lovely Sunday afternoon. The family are obsessed with tomato sauce (Ketchup), and spread it lovingly on their food. But when Bryce announces to the family that he doesn't love tomato sauce, that he infact loves bbq sauce, an intense family melodrama ensues. This is the classic "coming out" story, but told through the eyes tomato and BBQ sauce die-hards. When Bryce's father under goes an emotional catharsis, and comes to accept his son's difference, harmony returns to the lunch. Ironically, the fact that Bryce is married to another man who has joined them for lunch and is considered part of their family, is NOT a big deal. And that is the point. Why should a simple difference, like your taste for something, be such a big deal?
