Everybody in the creative community knows Corbis. Yet less and less people are searching for images on Corbis. We needed not only to create a minisite, but something to recapture attention and generate a new perspective on Corbis.
To create a minisite on the Global Corbis website
We created VISUAL ALPHABET, a minisite on the Corbis website that not only let people search for images, but speak through them. Doubled as a messenger, it replaces each letter on your keyboard with a Corbis' image. Just key in any message and it will be translated into fun video comprising different Corbis' images!
We successfully got people to use Corbis' images in a whole new way, allowing millions of them to be viralled across different social media channels. More importantly, we have, using Corbis images, created a new form of expression to enrich the way we talk about our world. The launch of Visual Alphabet drove an additional 12,000 visits to the Corbis website in just 2 days. Average visit duration of the website has increased by 3.2 minutes and an additional 81% increase of new visits to the Corbis website.
